Private Workshops

Now that I have a studio, I can reliably host private workshops of 1-6 individuals (If you’re hoping to do a workshop with more please do reach out and we can see what we can make happen!). Pricing is based on length of workshop, materials used, and complexity of content; while I have some basic subjects, private workshops are individually customized to suit your goals, budget, and other preferences.

Things we can go over in private workshops include any mix of ties such as whisks, turkey wings, hawk’s tails, cobwebbers, moth wings, sweepers, besoms; different broommaking skills like stitching, attaching to a stick or other handle material, weaving different materials on the handle; material explorations of tampico, broomcorn, and botanical additions; decorative embellishments from various ways to paint, stain, and burn handles, using found objects for handles, unusual weaving materials, and methods of coloring and dyeing the “brush” part of the broom or brush… and so much more. If there’s a specific broom or brush for a specific purpose and aesthetic you have in mind, we can see what we can do to make it happen.

I’d love to have witches looking to make brooms with specific meaning and purpose, folks looking to make marriage brooms, those interested in having a closer relationship with tending to their space through tools they make themselves, musicians interested in making brooms for making music, artists with specific broom and brush needs… but of course, really anyone interested in making a broom, whether they want to do it once for a special piece or are hoping to make it a major thing in their life as a hobby or part of a career.

Like I said above, pricing really varies depending on what your goals are, how much time we take, and what materials are used. Typically, I’ll charge a booking deposit that’s sliding scale to reserve my time and go towards purchasing materials if necessary, and at the conclusion of the class will charge for any time over what was expected and materials used.

My availability in 2024 is *really* limited because I’ll be out of town for learning opportunities, so if you’re interested reach out and book some time now! Please take a look at the calendar to get an idea of availability before reaching out.
